This was our inaugural broadcast. After the headlines, we spent most of the rest of the time sharing our own, individual stories of our own activism, including writing for the Nolan Chart (www.nolanchart.com) where all three of us have accounts, Jake's candidacy for Congress, Melinda's book, Greed: The Neoconning of Amerca, and Walt's novel, The Money Suckers.

Freedom News Hour: Surviving Meltdown!

Jake Towne spent the past four years working as a chemical engineer in the semiconductor industry in Shanghai, China, where he saw learned first-hand what the loss of liberty looks like. He has declared his candidacy for United States Congress in eastern Pennsylvania's 15th District. Running without a political party affiliation, Towne's message is that by protecting individual liberties, defending economic freedoms and promoting peace, the end result is prosperity. Towne favors a restoration of the Republic and a return to the rule of law under the United States Constitution and believes the devaluing of our dollar currency is a critical and pressing issue. Towne also plans to implement a novel “Open Office” method of open government if elected. The heart of this idea is an online public forum belonging to residents who could comment and offer opinions on legislation, submit bill proposals, and reports phone and letter feedback. His campaign website, TowneForCongress.com, has debate and discussion features enabled for any visitors. Jake has written an eco-political column for the past two years entitled “Yet Another Champion of the Constitution” at NolanChart.com

Melinda Pillsbury-Foster http://pillsbury-foster.info has hosted radio shows for five years now. These have included The Spiritual Politician on BBS, The Melinda Show on The Micro Effect, and The Revolution Will Not Be Televised on Ron Paul Revolution Radio. Politically, she is a classical liberal who joined the Libertarian Party in 1974, serving on National Committee in 1987 – 88. In California she was Southern Vice Chairman for six terms, ran for office and managed campaigns. In 1988 she reregistered Republican to understand what a major party looked like from the inside. She does not think how you are registered which matters but the values which drive your own choices. She remains a classical liberal committed to individual rights and individual sovereignty. She is the mother of five and the grandmother of three.

Walt Thiessen is a former liberal who moved to the libertarian camp in 1980 soon after graduating from Colgate University. He was a candidate (i.e. volunteer sacrificial lamb) for Congress in 1996 from Connecticut as an expression of his support for the Libertarian Party's presidential nominee that year, Harry Browne. He is self-employed with his own, small website hosting and development company. In 2007 created the Nolan Chart website (www.nolanchart.com) which allows and encourages people from all political camps to submit news and opinion articles for online publication. In 2009, he spent the year writing a novel, The Money Suckers (www.themoneysuckers.com) set at the beginning of the financial crisis which tells the tale of a top-level banker who faces a crisis of conscience with life-and-death consequences. Walt lives in Warrenton, VA with his wife of 10+ years, the former Louise Cohen.
